Summit Street Reconstruction
Summit Street looks a little different these days. The mass construction is due to the replacement of the water main. The construction began in May 2020 and has an estimated completion date of July 2021. The completed Summit Street will also have lots of aesthetic enhancements.
During construction, Summit Street remains open, but as a one-way road. Currently, traffic is only northbound between Monroe and Jackson. Beginning in April, Summit will be southbound only between Jackson and Monroe. The work between Monroe and Lafayette will be fully complete and open to the public by the end of 2020.
