The board of directors from both ConnecToledo Downtown Development Corporation and the Downtown Toledo Improvement District hosted the Annual Downtown Toledo Update at the Glass City Center on Wednesday, November 9. Attendees learned about recently completed projects along with 2023 anticipated activities.

SAME Café Opens in Downtown Toledo Library
There’s a new restaurant in downtown Toledo, with an entirely new concept. The SAME (So All May Eat) Café has officially opened inside the Main Branch of the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library. The Café operates on a participation-based model, meaning every guest has access to healthy food by contributing what they can through time, money or produce.

Eastman & Smith dedicated to remaining in downtown
From its founding in 1844, Eastman & Smith has been dedicated to the development and future of Toledo. It was Eastman & Smith attorneys William Baker and Barton Smith who are credited as being two of the founding members of the Toledo Bar Association. Over the years, Eastman & Smith has represented well known Toledo business interests including companies like Sun Oil Company, The Toledo Blade Company and many more.
Toledo City Council approves new Community Entertainment Districts in Downtown Toledo
On April 12, 2022, Toledo City Council voted to establish seven new Community Entertainment Districts (CEDs) in downtown Toledo. ConnecToledo Downtown Development Corporation worked with the City of Toledo and business community to facilitate the implementation of the CEDs as a resource to spur further economic growth and development.
State Recognition for Downtown Toledo Black Owned Businesses
The Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose highlighted eight Black-Owned businesses in Ohio that “have shown what hard work looks like, continue to make their communities better, and inspire others to chase their entrepreneurial dreams.” We are proud that two of those eight are located right here in downtown Toledo!
Lunch at Levis Food Truck Selection
It's that time - we're getting ready for a summer of fun with Lunch at Levis. Lunch At Levis, the popular daytime concert series, returns for its 17th season. The 17-week series kicks off on June 2 and runs—Thursdays—until September 22 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. Live entertainment, food vendors, and other activities are highlights of downtown’s biggest event during the work week.
Downtown Toledo Businesses Named Top Workplaces
We are thrilled to see so many downtown businesses on the Top Workplaces 2022 List! The list is determined by an employee engagement survey. According to Energage, the company administering the survey, “Creating a Top Workplace is about more than offering great benefits and vacation time. It’s about organizational health.
