Developments: Imagination Station KeyBank Discovery Theatre

The Imagination Station has long been Toledo’s interactive, hands-on headquarters where teaching happens in an informal, fun environment. To ensure that science never goes out of style, the new Imagination Station KeyBank Discovery Theatre’s 58-foot screen and 280 seats bring state-of-the-art cinema to downtown Toledo, and a more engaging STEM experience to students from all over.

The theater addition completely renovates the entrance along Summit St., but the greatest transformation is taking place behind closed doors. With a 4K digital laser projection system and 3D capabilities, the theater has the incredible capability to stream live feeds from museums around the world and space centers across the universe, along with plans to play 10 exclusive educational films each year. Feature films can even be shown alongside special events.

The $10-million project is a unified effort from local companies, including architecture and design from The Collaborative Inc., Lathrop offering construction services, and, of course, KeyBank providing the leading donation.
