Developments: Fort Industry Square
On the National Register of Historic Places, Fort Industry Square is Toledo’s most direct tie to our city’s history. During the Revolutionary War, this stretch of Summit St. was believed be part of a fortification against the British. The current structure has been in place over 125 years, and its 144,000 square-footprint is under development by Karp and Associates Inc.
Phase I will leverage $26 million in investment and tax credits to revamp upper floors into 40 residential units that overlook the Maumee River, while lower floors offer 37,000 sq. feet of commercial space. Phase II will redevelop the other half of the building. Ultimately, Fort Industry Square will be a unique crossroad where residences, offices, retailers, and entertainment meet adjacent to the Maumee River and the Seagate Convention Centre.
In downtown Toledo, Karp and Associates have also redeveloped Standart Lofts—75 residential apartments, in 2011, and The Berdan—115 residential units and commercial space, in 2017.
